GEORGE H. HENDERSON EXPOSITION CENTER

 

COMPLEX INFO:

Built in 1983, The expo center complex was constructed for $2 million and funded from private contributions. It is located on a 36 acre tract (only 25 areas are in use at the present). When constructed it was the largest pre-engineered clear span building in the United States! It has been copied by many cities since its completion.

MAIN BUILDING

The main building is a 90,000 sq. ft. clear span building containing a 110' X 255' arena, permanent seating for 6950, four sets of restrooms, five concession stands, special events room, three offices available for tenant use and a 30' X 40' announcer stand over looking the arena. The building  also has a  24' X 40' portable stage and is able to seat as many as 10,000 concert style.

SPECIAL EVENTS ROOM

The special events room is a 8000 sq. ft. glass fronted room located in the main building over looking the arena. The room is climate controlled and has theater type seating for 180 people. It also has two serving areas, restrooms and a 8' X 16' portable stage. The room is also handicap assessable.

PAVILION

The pavilion is a 62,500 sq. ft. open air building. It has been used to host many events ranging  from livestock shows, company picnics, flea markets, boat shows, and company workshops. The building  contains a 100'X150' arena and portable seating for 300 people. The building also contains a animal wash rack , restrooms with showers and a concession stand. The building is also capable of housing up to 80 10' X 10' portable horse stalls , 200 4' X 6' swine pens or tie racks for as many as 250 head of cattle.
